Rooted in the Mediterranean, Grown in Lexington
Long before Mediterranean Cafe opened its doors, Azmi Jebali was learning the rhythm of farming life on his family’s land. He grew up tending soil, harvesting vegetables, and understanding the value of food grown with care. Meals were simple, fresh, and shared. That experience shaped everything he would later bring to the table.

A Simple Start with a Big Vision
Over 20 years ago, Azmi opened the Mediterranean Cafe in a quiet Lexington shopping center. It was humble. Sales were slow. And the pressure to keep up with competitors was real.
But instead of focusing on trends, Azmi leaned into tradition. He stopped trying to keep up—and started building something meaningful. A place rooted in values. A space built on real food and real relationships.

A Menu That’s Meaningful
What started as a survival story became a restaurant with soul. Today, Mediterranean Cafe blends the flavors Azmi grew up with—cultural staples from across the Mediterranean—with a Southern approach to simplicity and hospitality. While some call it Greek, it’s actually much broader: a fusion of family recipes, local ingredients, and Azmi’s take on comfort food.
Everything is made from scratch. Every ingredient has a purpose. And every dish is served with the same warmth that started on a small farm across the world.
